York Assembly of God is a Pastor/Elder led church model we feel most closely represents the New Testament form of church governance. Thus, the Elders have been charged with the role of leading the church. The leadership is made up of full-time, vocational pastors and directors who have been called by God for such a specific ministry. 

We are an autonomous, self-governing church. However, our pastors and elders are held accountable by a reputable network of churches called the Assemblies of God.  As the issuing body for the credentials for our pastors, the moral, ethical, and theological standards of the pastoral staff are ensured for the members and friends of York Assembly. 

The Assemblies of God network is loosely affiliated entity – a voluntary cooperative fellowship – which allows churches and ministers to pursue their individual expressions and purposes according to a mutually & local church congregation affirmed set of bylaws.  For more information about this network of churches and ministers, check out the Assemblies of God.
